drink cozy
I'm working on a drink cozy pattern that I will be posting for free as soon as it is finished.
I hope everyone enjoys it. It was fun making and I just wanted to share it.
I have just finished writing up the pattern for testing so wont be long :) I'm excited to share it with you .
MONKEY DRINK COZY
Material needed: worsted weight yarn (gray, white and red)
size 5.5 mm I hook
tapestry needle
2 buttons
Directions
*note chain doesn't count as a stitch*
Starting gray yarn
round 1: magic ring ch2, 10 dc in the the ring pull tight sl st to join (10dc)
round 2: chain 2, 2dc in each stitch sl st to join (20dc)
round 3: chain 2, 2dc in first st, 1 dc in the next 2 sts, around to the last 2 sts in the second from
the last st 2dc in last st 1 dc, sl st to join (27dc).
round 4: ch1 WORKING IN BACK LOOP ONLY in this round hdc in each st around (27hdc) sl st to
join
round 5-10: ch 1 hdc in each around sl st to join. (27 hdc) fasten off and weave in ends.
round 11: using red sl st to join ch1, hdc in each st around sl st to join. (27 hdc) fasten off and
weave in ends.
round 12: using white sl st chain 1, hdc in each st around sl st to join (27hdc) fasten off and
weave in ends.
EARS make 2
using gray yarn
magic ring ch 1 6 hdc in ring tighten ring, ch2, 2dc in the first 2 sts, 1dc in the next 2 sts, 2dc in
the last 2 sts, leaving a long tail for sewing fasten off.
Mouth
with white yarn chain 8, 2 sc in 2chain, sc in the next 5 chains, 4sc in the last st working on the
other side of the chain sc in the next 5 ch, 2sc in the last st slip stitch to join.
chain 1, sc in first st sc in the 7, 2sc in next 2 sts, sc in the next 7 sts, 2sc in the last st, sl st to
join. leave a long tail to sew on the mouth. fasten off
with red yarn and needle st a smile in the center of the white.
Now to the monkey together.
sew on the mouth, ears and buttons to make the face. see picture for placement.
